Dear all,

Are you a Bachelor or Master student in the middle of your studies or a beginning PhD student who barely knows what their project is going to be, but you would love to gather some conference experience? You would like to get inspiration from established PIs as well as your peers during talks and poster sessions, and further your professional life by talking to potential employers and industry professionals? But you don't have enough results to present a poster or no money for the participation fee?

No worries, we have just the thing for you! We are excited to announce that the University of Cologne will be the host of the international FEBS-IUBMB-ENABLE Conference 2023 on 23.-25.11.23, organized by students for students! The best thing for you: By volunteering to help out the local organizing committee, you get to join the conference for free!

WHAT ARE YOUR BENEFITS AS VOLUNTEER? Free participation, food & drinks, talks, poster sessions, and the career fair are all waiting for you :) If you are lucky and we have empty spaces in our workshops, you might even be able to participate in those as well!

WHAT DO YOU NEED TO DO? Reply to eheutenuni-koeln.de with whether you want to volunteer, when you will be available on the days of the conference (23.-25.11.) and your preferred tasks (mind the wardrobe, microphone runner/technical support during the talks, mind the reception desk).

WHAT'S NEXT? In the coming weeks, a schedule for all the helpers will be set up, keeping your preferred tasks in mind. You will get more detailed information on your tasks later on (don't worry, it's all very simple) and still have time left between your assigned tasks to enjoy the conference! Until 29.10. you also still have the option to hand in an abstract to present your own poster! Don't worry if you're at the very start of your current project or your topic is not strictly related to the conference topic "environmental impacts on human health". We will have a pretty diverse range of life sciences projects from people at various stages of their scientific journey. It's an opportunity for you to practice your presentation skills to your peers in a low-pressure environment!
